Hi, this is Misa Amane. I hope this is okay, Lazarus gave me your number. I'm a reporter and I want to make sure that your side of the story gets told! Anything you can tell me about what happened would be great, and of course I'll only share what you want me to.

Yes, Lazarus mentioned that. I'm not interested in having my side of the story told. The less publicity I get, the better. I actually had questions for YOU, and if you answer them, I'll give you some nice, general information about the clinic. It's nothing you wouldn't be able to find out yourself, but I'll save you the trouble of getting in.

Are you sure? It sounds like they have a manhunt going after you, if it's unjust then we can try to stop it. Either way, you can ask me whatever you want.

The manhunt I can avoid. If you want your article you can have it, but I don't want them coming after you thinking you can lead them to me. Besides, legal resolution takes time, time I don't believe I have. Better to let it all die down.

I would like to know what your newspaper knows about me.

Don't worry, I won't leak anything that puts me in danger no matter what you say. But I do want to know the truth. They don't know very much. The accusations are you were selling drugs off the books, are affiliated with a gang, and you hid them from the police along with killing rival members. And you dodged a police warrant. Apart from your name and the clinic's address, I don't think there's anything else.

All right I'll start with the charges. If you look at LSR's books, our invoices, receipts, & other records are comprehensive. The paper will tell you that I sold none of the clinic's drugs.

[He is saying nothing about any OTHER drugs he might have sold.]

I am not affiliated with A GANG. Talk to anyone in that area and they will tell you that there are THREE gangs that operate in that area, and if you ask the right person, you might find out that all three leave the clinic alone in exchange for confidential, free medical care. Anyone with any sense will realize that if I had sold a single one of them out, I would not be writing to you right now. You can see how cooperating fully with police was difficult for me. Perhaps not the most morally upright thing to do, but it was the price I paid to operate in the area without relying on a single gang for protection.

The murder accusations are untrue. I don't know where they got the idea. I am, however, clearly resisting arrest.

Right.

I've been very careful NOT to give them reasons. The biggest risk I took was helping a KMC officer's girlfriend disappear, but that was months ago. Last I knew, he was under the impression that she was dead.

I can try looking into that. She might be in danger if he has found out what you did.

You understand if I'm reluctant to give you her name. HIS name is Emilio Martinez. You might be able to find out if he's in police custody -- afraid I've heard very little.

Very few. You don't make many enemies in this line of work. The former employee who gave the particularly enlightening interview held a grudge because of anti-Numbered sentiment. When it all went public, I made it clear what our position was, and he quit over it. He was the only one, though.

There was one man, a year and a half ago, who had a grudge against me. His name was Casval Mass. However, he has since forgotten the reason for his grudge, and I haven't heard a word from him since his pulses disappeared. It's not your best lead.
